IPAK

# “Silk”: an open font library for the buildings, streets and wayfinding of Uzbekistan

## How we work

### Research

Street lettering, the ʻ sign, the 2026 reform, banna'i (glazed brickwork), ganch (carved plaster), metro and calligraphy.

### Concepts

Every style is tested on real photos of buildings.

### Review

Reviewed from four sides: typography, the Uzbek language, wayfinding, technical and licence.

## License

All fonts are distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1: you can use, modify and share them for free. The working fonts keep the rights of the base font's authors. [OFL]
